Crop Snapdeal shipping labels for thermal printing

Snapdeal is an Indian online marketplace that has long been associated with value-priced products and with buyers in smaller cities and towns. Sellers on Snapdeal range from single-person shops to established small businesses, and a good number of them sell on several marketplaces at the same time. Whatever the size of the business, every order needs a shipping label, and a label that is the right size makes dispatch faster. The Snapdeal Label Cropper on this page converts the label PDF you download into a 4x6 inch PDF that prints cleanly on a thermal label printer.

If you are looking for the Snapdeal seller panel label size, a free way to crop the downloaded PDF, or a label ready for a thermal printer, you are in the right place.

The idea is simple. You choose the PDF, the tool finds the label on each page and trims the empty paper around it, and you receive a new PDF in which every page is 4 inches by 6 inches by default. There is no login, no fee and no software to install.

This website is independent. It is not operated by Snapdeal and has no access to your seller account or your orders. The tool works only on files that you download and select yourself.

Who benefits most from a Snapdeal label cropper

Because Snapdeal sellers are a mixed group, the tool is useful in a few different situations.

The first is the multi-channel seller. If you sell on two or three marketplaces, you may be handling labels with different layouts every morning. A single tool that crops all of them to the same 4x6 size means you can run one printer with one roll, and you do not need to change settings between marketplaces. The label from one platform will look different from the label from another, but after cropping they will all fit the same sticker.

The second is the small seller who has just bought a thermal printer. A new printer is exciting, but the first week can be frustrating if every PDF prints too small or too large. A cropper gives you a reliable way to get a correct file without learning PDF editing.

The third is the seller who works from a shared or borrowed computer, or from a phone. Because the tool runs in the browser and does not need an account, you can use it anywhere without installing anything or leaving your files behind.

Step-by-step: from seller panel to printed label

  1. Download your labels. Open your Snapdeal seller panel and find the orders that are ready to ship. Download the shipping labels as a PDF. If you can select many orders at once, do so to get a single file. Wording and menus change from time to time, so follow what you see on your screen.
  2. Choose the file here. Drag the PDF into the upload box above or click the box to pick it. There is no fixed page-count or file-size cap. Very large PDFs depend on available browser/device memory.
  3. Pick padding. Normal (6%) is the standard choice. Use Tight for a bigger label and Loose for extra space.
  4. Pick crop mode. Label only keeps the first main section of every page and leaves out a lower section such as an invoice if there is a clear gap. Keep everything on page crops around all printed content.
  5. Let the tool work. A progress bar shows how many pages are done. Everything runs on your own device.
  6. Print the new PDF. It downloads automatically. Open it, check the first page and print on your 4x6 printer at 100 percent scale.

What the tool does to your PDF, in detail

Step one: reading the file

After you choose a PDF, this page loads two version-pinned open source libraries hosted on this website. PDF.js reads your file and jsPDF builds the new one. They are loaded only when needed, so the page stays quick to open.

Step two: locating the label

Each page is drawn invisibly at a moderate size. The tool treats any pixel that is not nearly white as content and builds a list of rows that contain content. Rows are joined into sections, and a new section starts when there is an empty band of more than about 3.5 percent of the page height. Sections shorter than 8 percent of the page height are ignored in Label only mode, so a thin header line is not mistaken for a label.

Step three: cropping with margin

The label area is expanded by the padding you chose. This prevents cutting through the thin outer border of the label or the quiet zone around a barcode, which is the blank space that scanners need on either side of the bars.

Step four: redrawing and assembling

The area is drawn again at about 1200 pixels across, close to 300 dpi on a 4 inch sticker, and saved into a 4x6 inch page at its natural proportions. Pages are added one by one until the file is complete. The output is made of images, so its text is not selectable, but it is crisp for printing.

Everything about the 4x6 size

Thermal label rolls are sold in many sizes, but 4x6 inches is the most widely used for parcel labels. Here is how the same size appears in the places you are likely to see it.

ContextWhat you will see
Printer driver, inches4 x 6 in
Roll packaging100 x 150 mm (actual 101.6 x 152.4 mm)
PDF page dimension288 x 432 points
Printer at 203 dpi812 x 1218 dots
Printer at 300 dpi1200 x 1800 dots
Standard A4 sheet210 x 297 mm, about four times the label area

An A4 page has roughly four times the area of a 4x6 label, which is why scaling an A4 PDF onto a 4x6 sticker makes everything tiny. After cropping, the label content takes up almost the whole sticker, so text and barcodes are close to their natural size.

Getting clean prints from a thermal printer

A tidy workflow for sellers on more than one marketplace

If Snapdeal is only one of your sales channels, a simple routine will stop labels from getting mixed up.

If you sell on other platforms, the Flipkart Label Cropper, the Meesho Label Cropper and the PDF Label Cropper work in the same way.

Your data stays with you

Labels are packed with personal details: names, addresses and phone numbers. Many free online converters upload files so that their servers can process them, and that is a risk for a seller who handles customer data. The Snapdeal Label Cropper avoids it entirely. The PDF is processed by your own browser, the cropped file is created there, and it is saved to your device. There is no upload, and we have no way to see or keep the file.

The PDF libraries and page styles are served by this website. Your label is processed locally and is not sent with those requests. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Common problems and quick fixes

Managing label rolls and supplies without waste

A thermal printer is only as reliable as the supplies you feed it, and running short at the wrong moment is more costly than the price of a spare roll. A little planning keeps your dispatch on schedule.

Begin by working out how many labels you use in a typical week. If you send around 30 parcels a day, six days a week, that is about 180 labels, which is under one standard roll of a few hundred stickers. If your volume doubles during a sale, you will need two rolls in a week. Order rolls before you reach the last one, because delivery can take several days in some areas.

Store rolls flat or upright in their original boxes, away from sunlight, heat and damp. Direct thermal paper darkens when it gets warm, and a roll that has spent a summer on a shelf near a window may print grey or give a faint background tint. A cool cupboard is ideal. Keep a spare roll beside the printer so you can swap quickly.

When you change to a different brand of roll, run a calibration and print a test label. Rolls from different makers can have slightly different gap sizes or sensor marks, and the printer needs to learn the new pattern. If labels start to drift down the page, it is almost always a calibration issue and not a problem with the file.

Finally, avoid pulling half-printed labels out by hand while the printer is working. It can jam the feed and stretch the backing. If something goes wrong, stop the print job, open the cover, clear the paper path and feed a fresh label before you continue.

A quality checklist before the courier arrives

A label that cannot be scanned causes delays that are much harder to fix once the parcel has left your table. Before pickup, run through a short checklist for each batch.

If you use a phone to scan test labels, hold it at normal reading distance and make sure the barcode fills a good part of the camera view. A label that scans easily from a phone will almost always be fine for a courier's handheld scanner, which is designed to be more forgiving.

Some sellers keep a small log of problems, such as a label that failed or a parcel that was returned for address errors. Over a month, patterns appear. You may find that most problems come from one printer, one roll or one product line, and then you can fix the cause.

More output sizes and a separate invoice file

The default output is 4x6 inches, but the Output size menu above the upload box also offers 100 x 150 mm, A6, A5, 3 x 5 in, 4 x 4 in and a custom width and height in millimetres. If you print on an ordinary office printer, choose an A4 sheet with 2 or 4 labels and the tool arranges the labels on each sheet so you can cut them apart. The size you pick is remembered on this device.

If your Snapdeal PDF has the invoice printed below the label, tick the option to save the invoice part as a separate PDF. The label file downloads as usual, and a Download invoices PDF button appears with the invoice parts on A4 pages. This works in Label only mode and needs a clear empty gap between the label and the invoice. If none is found, the tool tells you.

Why one consistent label size helps everyone in the chain

Couriers move enormous numbers of parcels through sorting hubs, and the people and machines that handle them depend on labels being predictable. A label of the same size, in the same position and with a clean barcode is quick to find and quick to scan. When every parcel from your business carries a standard 4x6 label, the pickup agent learns where to look, and your parcels move through the first scan faster.

The same consistency helps your own team. A packer who sees the same label shape all day makes fewer errors than one who sees a mix of A4 cut-outs, hand-trimmed strips and shrunken prints. If you employ part-time helpers, a uniform label also makes training shorter, because there is only one thing to learn.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Snapdeal Label Cropper free?

Yes. There is no cost, no registration and no watermark. There is no fixed page-count or file-size cap. Very large PDFs depend on available browser/device memory. The site is supported by advertising.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The tool runs in your web browser. It downloads two small code libraries only after you choose a file.

Is my customers' information safe?

Your PDF is processed on your own device and is not uploaded to our servers. We cannot view or keep it.

What size does the tool produce?

By default each page is 4 x 6 inches, about 101.6 x 152.4 mm, the standard size for most thermal parcel labels.

Can I use labels from different marketplaces in one file?

Technically yes, because the tool treats each page separately. We suggest cropping each marketplace in its own file, so you can hand the right parcels to the right courier.

What if my PDF has an invoice below the label?

In Label only mode the invoice section is left out when there is a clear empty gap between it and the label. If there is no gap, switch modes or print the invoice separately.

Will my printer need special settings?

Choose 4x6 inch paper, scale 100 percent, no margins and portrait orientation. Calibrate the printer after loading a new roll.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on Android and iPhone. Long files take more time on older phones.

How sharp will the barcode be?

The label is redrawn at about 300 dpi instead of stretched, which keeps the bars crisp. Scan one printed label before a big batch.

Why can I not select the text in the output?

Each label is saved as an image to keep the quality high. This does not affect printing or scanning.

Is this tool part of Snapdeal?

No. LabelsCropper is an independent website and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Snapdeal. All trademarks belong to their owners.

What should I do if it does not work?

There is no fixed page-count or file-size cap. Very large PDFs depend on available browser/device memory. Check your internet connection, reload the page and try again.

Can I get a size other than 4x6?

Yes. The Output size menu offers 100 x 150 mm, A6, A5, 3 x 5 in, 4 x 4 in, a custom width and height in millimetres, and A4 sheets with 2 or 4 labels. Your choice is remembered on your device.

Can I save the invoice as a separate file?

Yes. Tick the option to save the invoice part as a separate PDF. In Label only mode, the tool gives you the label file as usual and a second button for the invoice pages when it finds an invoice below the label with a clear gap.
